The areas (Receiving & Inventory, Mail, Print Services) comprised within
Materials Management ensure a continuous supply of goods and services through
integrated supply chain management. This is accomplished by the utilization of
automated systems for the requisition, inventory, and distribution of goods and
services, through decentralized and centralized processes, and contract
administration for outsourced services. Materials Management ensures compliance
with applicable federal, state, and local statutes pertaining to the procurement
of goods and services by public agencies; United States Postal Regulations
regarding the processing of U.S. Mail; OSHA, MIOSHA, and general warehouse
principals regarding the safe handling of hazardous materials and operation of
heavy equipment. Materials Management also ensures alignment of supply chain
management with the College’s strategic plan to ensure goods, specialty graphics
and services are provided from responsible and responsive suppliers offering the
lowest possible cost and providing the overall best value to the College.
